History: The Centre County Affordable Housing Coalition was formed in 1996 in response to concerns about cuts in U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Federal Emergency Management Assistance (FEMA) funding. At that time, the Coalition was comprised of 12 members representing 7 organizations. Today, the Coalition has grown to 52 members representing 41 organizations.
In 2004/2005, four committees were created to further the Coalition mission. The Committees are: Workforce Housing, Marketing, Best Practices, Very Low/Low Income Housing and Finance.
Mission: It is the mission of the Centre County Affordable Housing Coalition to ensure that all residents of Centre County, especially those with low incomes, have decent, safe, affordable and accessible housing.
